Trump's New Tariff Round Overshadows Post-Peak Container Shipping Season

U.S. President Donald Trump has introduced a new round of double-digit tariffs on 60 trading partners, coinciding with the end of an unusually early peak container shipping season this year.

The tariffs, implemented under Section 301 of the Trade Act, replace temporary global tariffs that expired on Friday. The new duties apply to imported goods from 18 countries, including the United Kingdom, India, and Canada.
