Japanese company Sumitomo Corporation acquired a 33.3% stake in the capital of the offshore wind farm Gwynt Glas being developed by EDF and Electricity Supply Board (ESB) in the Celtic Sea.
This became Sumitomo's first involvement in a floating offshore wind farm project.
Project parameters

It is also mentioned that in 2025 Sumitomo signed a detailed memorandum of understanding with the UK Department for Business, Innovation, Science and Trade to advance investments in the United Kingdom. The referenced investment is presented as one of the practical initiatives within this area.
