AD Ports Group and IRH Global Trading Ltd. have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore strategic cooperation in bunkering services and alternative fuels at Khalifa Port.
As announced on June 30, the MoU outlines potential collaboration in various areas, including providing bunkering services for vessels calling at Khalifa Port, developing alternative fuel solutions such as liquefied natural gas (LNG), biofuels, and methanol, as well as exploring opportunities related to fuel storage infrastructure, terminal facilities, and fuel sampling and testing capabilities.
“By working with reliable partners like IRH, we enhance our capabilities and support the development of future-ready infrastructure and services that strengthen the UAE's position as a leading global trade and logistics hub, in line with the vision of our wise leadership,” said Saif Al Mazrouei, CEO of the AD Ports Group port cluster.
Through this collaboration, AD Ports Group and IRH Global Trading aim to further enhance the value of Khalifa Port as a multifunctional deep-water port supporting efficient, sustainable, and future-oriented maritime operations.
The collaboration will explore opportunities to leverage IRH's international trade capabilities in conjunction with the port infrastructure and trade ecosystem of AD Ports Group.
“As we continue to develop our global energy trading platform, bunkering and alternative marine fuels represent a high-potential growth area. We see Khalifa Port as an ideal base to explore these opportunities and look forward to closely collaborating with AD Ports Group to realize them,” commented Ali Rashed Alrashdi, CEO of International Resources Holding.
It is worth noting that at the end of 2025, AD Ports Group and Nimex Terminals signed two long-term agreements to develop the country's first terminals for liquefied natural gas and liquefied hydrocarbon gas at Khalifa Port.
