Israeli container shipping operator ZIM has announced the appointment of Chen Lichtenstein as the new president and CEO of the company. This decision comes amid ongoing negotiations regarding a proposed acquisition by the German company Hapag-Lloyd.
Lichtenstein, who previously worked in other industries, will take office on July 1, replacing longtime CEO Eli Glickman. Glickman announced his departure due to changes in the company's strategy.
The appointment of a new leader comes at a critical time for the company, as ZIM faces market challenges and uncertainty regarding its future with Hapag-Lloyd.
